Our Sensational Start…

Our Director, Alyce Svensk opened Sensational Start Occupational Therapy in May 2017. She initially opened Sensational Start as a sole therapist and quickly realised that there were many children and families needing support and set about expanding the service to support our communities as best as possible. Our service has expanded over the past 5 years from just Alyce, to the team you see today!

Sensational Start aims to provide a holistic family centered therapy service to children and their families in the Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, and Newcastle areas. Sensational Start has three clinics, Belmont, Tuggerah and most recently, Boolaroo.

We work with children aged 2-18 years and are experienced in working with children with autism, attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, developmental delay, chromosomal disorders and many other conditions.

We work closely with families to establish family centered goals and are passionate about providing a service that best suits the needs of the child and family. Appointments are available in the clinic, at home or in the child’s school/preschool environment where appropriate.
